Sunlight: New album “Son Of The Sun” out now!

Today is the day for the Greek melodic heavy/power metallers Sunlight to release their second album “Son Of The Sun” through Total Metal Records, a division of Metal Scrap Records Inc..

The album contains impressive songs based on the roots of bands like Stratovarius, Thunderstone, Firewind, Sonata Arctica & Edguy. If you want to meet your chances with the band, you definitely need to check the lyric video for “Forever Lost” & the visualiser for “Son Of Fire” among others.

Keyboardist Panos Anastopoulos comments: ““Son Of The Sun” is finally here! This album means so much to me. It’s the result of dedication and passion, with roots going back to 2016. I still vividly remember myself when finishing the recording process in August 2020, after spending over a month immersed in crafting every note, putting the final touches late into the night just before heading off for a holiday. I’m sure you’ll feel this release as a piece of our soul—one we’re thrilled to share with you!”

Guitarist Makis Kaponis adds: “After years of hard work, passion, and dedication our new album is officially dropping off today! I still remember those endless winter nights, at the end of 2019 until the beginning of 2020. I was in Devasoundz studios every night to record the guitars. When the pandemic started, I had yet to record the acoustic guitar for “Secret Of Silence”. It was something new for everyone. The anticipation of completing the album, was what gave us strength during an unprecedented period. As you can understand, this album means the world to me. It’s a reflection of my journey, struggles, and goals.”

Recorded under the guidance of renowned producer Fotis Benardo (Nightfall, Rotting Christ, On Thorns I Lay) and mastered by George Nerantzis (Pain Of Salvation, Nightrage, Dark Funeral), “Son Of The Sun” features also the art of Gustavo Sazes (Firewind, Soilwork, Epica) who has been selected to create the album cover art and the collaboration with Shane Rice (Mythosphere, Ex Libris) to renovate the bands logo, leading them to their new era!

The band is currently looking forward to set up a live show presentation for the new album. Stay tuned for further information. Until then, go grab your copy!
