BIOGRAPHY

The self-exile in the shores of oblivion is no more. The realms of utopia that seemed to be fragmented now flow into harmony.

Harmonia PR is more than proud to welcome into its ranks one of the most charismatic Greek progressive metal acts, Wastefall! Wastefall are now in lead by singer/guitarist/keyboardist Domenik Papaemmanouil (also member of Philosophobia), who set sails for the new era of the band.

Wastefall formed by Domenik Papaemmanouil and Alex Katsiyiannis in March 2003 and released their first album, “Fallen Stars & Rising Scars”, a few months later (July 28th) through Sleaszy Rider Records. The reactions were more than just positive through the press worldwide which led them to move further on.

Successor to the bands debut was the album was the album “Soulrain 21”, a concept album dedicated to the twenty-one students lost their lives instantly in one of the most horrific car accidents ever committed in Greece.

The album has been recorded at the Fragile Studios with Vangelis Yalamas (Fragile Vastness, On Thorns I Lay, Ravencult) handling the production, the mixing & the mastering. On November 7, 2004 “Soulrain 21” was released again through Sleaszy Rider Records with the critics around the world marked the album as “Album Of The Year” in various magazines. The band has also shot two video clips for the tracks “Stunned To The World” & “Self Extinction Project”.

That led the band share the stage at first with Pain Of Salvation & Fates Warning at the historic Rodon Club & Hydrogeios club respectively and right after that, they hit the stage at the iconic Rockwave Festival as an opening band to Black Sabbath, Black Label Society & Velvet Revolver.

In October 2005, Wastefall hooked up with Danish based agency Intromental Management, who immediately got the band signed to the American label Sensory Records. The band was already working on new material while in the same time they performed together with Sieges Even at their Athenian show two months later.

Wastefall's third album entitled “Self Exile” was mixed and mastered by Tommy Hansen (Helloween, TNT, Jørn Lande) at Jailhouse Studios, Denmark in January 2006 and released on June 6th, 2006 by Sensory Records. For one more time, the critics around the world praised the band for its work. “Utopia Fragmented” was also the song that picked up as a video clip.

On August 1, 2008 the band announced that they were disbanding due to major reasons, until their comeback on November 2010. The band right after started working material that was meant to be their yet, untitled album, but eventually the “Meridiem” EP was released independently on April 12th, 2013. “Hearts In The Gutter” was the first single & video clip, which was directed by Domenik Papaemmanouil. The band also shared the stage with Shadow Gallery in order to promote “Meridiem” on stage.

A year later, and with a brand-new line up, Wastefall released the single “Resign” and then silence. But this silence will finally end. Domenic will lead himself to a lone path, moving things a step forward by releasing two new singles, "Iced Heart" "Aeternum".

Babis Amiridis (ex-Conspiranoia, ex-Time Collapse) joined the band recently as the new drummer in August 2024, followed by guitarist Konstantinos Mavroyannis (Ocean’s Edge, ex-The Silent Rage, ex-Fiat Lvx) on October 2024 and bassist Stefanos Spanopoulos (ex-Soulskinner, ex-The Dancing Cripples) on November 2024.
