BIOGRAPHY

Imperium Infernalis is one of the well-hidden gems of the Greek black metal scene, hailing from Heraklion, Crete.

Founded by singer M.F. in 2003, the band the first years of their existence they released four demos [“The Dark Age Has Arrived” (2003), “The Abyss Has Opened” (2004), “A Dark Soul's Reflection” (2005) & “Victims of Subhumanity” (2008)], split for one year and released one EP under the title “The Antihuman Plague Spreads” in 2010.

In May 2013, the French Le Crépuscule du Soir Productions signed the band in order to release their debut album under the title “Choking Οn Τhe Stench Οf Mankind”, which introduced the band to a wider range of fans and media. The biggest outcome so far happened with their 2017 second album, “Imago Dei”, which has been released by current German record label, Schattenkult Produktionen, which has received notable acclaim, including being named “Album Of The Month” by the Greek Metal Hammer and featured in No Clean Singing’s weekly reviews.

Now, in July 2025, the band strikes back with “Mortality Salience”, a 18-minute one track EP. The lyrical concept is an exploration of one’s awareness of their own mortality, through the lens of philosophical, psychological, and religious concepts and references.

The recordings of the EP hosted in the bands home studios while the mixing & the mastering made by the band’s drummer, George “Geegor” Anagnostopoulos, who has previously worked as engineer with bands like Universe217, Obsecration, Aherusia a.o., being also the foh engineer for bands like Absinthe Green, Dodheimsgard, Rotting Christ a.o.. The cover art of this release has been made by the American artist Burney.
